What is CJC 1295?
CJC 1295 is a growth hormone-releasing peptide, which when administered binds directly to the anterior pituitary gland and then stimulates the pituitary gland to increase endogenous production of growth hormone. This makes CJC 1295 together with other hormones to be used in the treatment of people who have hormonal deficiencies or dysfunctions.
The difference between CJC 1295 with DAC and CJC MOD GRF.
CJC 1295 with DAC is the drug affinity complex, so it is bound to albumin, and its purpose was to extend the half-life of the drug, and by doing so, it extended the half-life. Thus, the lifespan of CJC 1295 is over 6 - 8 days.
CJC MOD GRF, this is what we call substituted tetra. To better understand, let's say that Mr. Moreland is the first amino acid sequence from 1 to 29 of the growth hormone. Now CJC MOD GRF is the same amino acid sequence from 1 to 29 of growth hormone, except that it has four amino acids that have been replaced, that's why we call it tetrasubstituted. The reason they did this is that Sir Moreland has a half-life of about 8 to 12 minutes, and substituting Tetris or four amino acids from the original 29 amino acid sequence, increases the half-life of cjc1295 to about 30 minutes.
How to administrate CJC 1295 with DAC?
CJC 1295 with DAC is administered by subcutaneous injection on an empty stomach at bedtime. The reason you have to do it on an empty stomach is that growth hormone can offset or dampen the effects of insulin. If you eat, you increase insulin and therefore growth hormone peptide stimulates growth hormone. But instead of growth hormone then inducing its anabolic fat-mobilizing, deep restorative sleep-inducing, collagen-enhancing effects, it's busy trying to blunt the effects of insulin because you ate before bed.
What's the CJC 1295 with DAC recommended dose?
So, the recommended dose is 100 micrograms and the reason being is that pituitary saturation tends to occur around 100 micrograms. Even in doses beyond 100 micrograms, they don't really tend to yield a whole lot more relevant GH spike beyond 100 micrograms, so therefore if you're dosing 100 micrograms you're getting pretty much most the bang for your buck and you're not wasting excessive drug by adding more to the mix which will yield very little if anything at all.
How to inject CJC 1295 with DAC, once a day or dose it twice a day?
I recommend that patients start off doing it once a day to assess tolerance. You do that for the first month to see how they tolerate the drug. If they handle it quite well then you know you can proceed to twice a day if you'd like.
What does it mean that CJC 1295 is administered on an empty stomach?
We have to take into consideration that gastric emptying has a delayed response of about 20 minutes after you eat and peak gastric emptying occurs around 120 minutes after you eat. Even in patients that have gastroparesis which is a condition in which their gut essentially doesn't empty accordingly or empty like it should those patients tend to have about a ten percent retention at the two-hour mark. For this reason, most of us roughly give it at least an hour and a half - two hours before we start dosing the drug.
How do I store CJC1295?
CJC1295 is recommended to be stored in the fridge. You will pull it out when it's time to use it and put it back when you're done with it.
Why should I have interruptions in the dose administration de CJC1295?
By interruptions, it means why should i do five days out of seven days or why do some providers tell me do three months on one month off six months on one month off?
We all know that people can develop antibodies to the drug. Also, that's to avoid what we call tachyphylaxis. Tachyphylaxis is used in medicinal terms for saying drugs don't work no more.
Possible side effects CJC1295.
Most patients report water retention, which tends to be transient, usually decreasing in the first month or two. Water retention can also compress some of the nerves, which is why people sometimes say they have what is called carpal tunnel syndrome. Vivid dreams are another that many patients have had.
